A few month back I was introduced to a new diamond tool for CNC machines for stone which I have since used and tested and I'd like to share my view on it.

If you as a stonemason have wondered what to do to get all your joining countertops to the same thickness then here is a tool which solves your problem, The Calibreaker. Just one thing upfront, I'm no employee or related to the manufacturer of this tool in any way. This is just my personal view from my own experience.

The Calibreaker is used to calibrate the thickness of the countertops so they join without step between the sperate pieces. The big advantage of that is that there is no "blending in" or "merry in" on site necassary which is a huge time saver.

Once you have all your pieces calibrated on your CNC machine then they will just fit perfectly together. Our site installers are saving a fair bit of time since we calibrate all the pieces to the same thickness.

The Calibreaker does not only calibrate, it also adds a chamfer to the edge without any chips. This tools comes in two slightly different versions. You can get it with a chamfer or with a small radius. I use the radius one but the adjusting is done easier with the bevel version.

Adjusting the Calibreaker is necessary as the diamonds wearing to ensure that the bevel or radius is always the same. It is also a good idea to use presetting if your CNC machine is fitted with this feature.
